Soo silly!
Why does someone even waste their time with a listing like this?
Lets start the bid at 15k!  Sure that'll work!

Bet it cost a pretty penny just to list that auction.

Sure did.  You are welcome.  That's going to become a standard practice.  ebay URLs are going to be converted to OG links.

As far as the cost to list that auction, I'm not so sure.  What are the fees if no one buys it?  I've seen lots of jokers list BS for $1M (say one million dollars like doctor evil would) - I think it must not cost that much when the item doesn't sell.

There is an insertion fee.
This fee is based on features in the auction.

Insertion, Pictures, Starting Price, Reserve, Buy it now.
Some of the amount is based on actual values used.
I.E. Starting Price, Reserve, Buy it now.
The more they start at, the more the insertion fee costs.
The insertion fee is charged if the auction finishes or not.
Many sellers will cancel an auction to avoid the fee.
I'm not so sure this actually works.

When the auction finishes, there is a fee based on how much the auction went for.

These amounts add up.
My friend used to sell tickets on eBay.
His monthly eBay fees were in the order of $900-$1200.
